Although the scribe’s colophon does not include a date, at the end of the Sefer Ahavah there appears the author’s subscription:
“I, Moses son of Rabbi Maimon, of blessed memory, have corrected the text on the basis of my books.”

On the basis of this authorial revision, an approximate dating has been established: between 1181 and 1204, that is, after the composition of the Mishneh Torah and before the death of Moses Maimonides.
