Colophon: “I, Shabbetai, son of the honourable Rabbi Joshua, may he live, a student of the scribes and a scribe from Tivoli, wrote this commentary by Ibn Ezra on the Five Books of the Torah, together with glosses, explanations, and other commentaries written in it in a small script. I wrote it for my master, the distinguished and illustrious Rabbi Samuel, son of the honourable Rabbi Menahem, of blessed memory, here in Fiorentino.

It was written over the course of eleven weeks and completed at the beginning of Shevat, in the year ‘Raḥem’ [רחם], may You remember [this] for the sixth millennium. May the Holy One, blessed be He, grant him [the owner] merit to study it, he and his offspring and his descendants, for a thousand generations, and may it never depart from them, neither today nor ever, until a donkey climbs a ladder in Afirula.”
