Colophon: It is finished and completed. Praise be to the Creator of the world. Blessed is He who gives strength to the weary and increases power for the powerless. Blessed be the Lord, for He has heard the voice of my supplications. Blessed are You, O Lord; teach me Your statutes. Blessed is God, who has not removed His prayer and His loving-kindness from me.

I, Bezalel Elijah, son of the honourable Rabbi Zedekiah [Nabte…], son of the honourable Rabbi Elijah, of blessed memory, wrote this book, Maʿalot ha-Middot, and completed it here, **in Porcia, situated on the river Laso, on Thursday, the twenty-eighth of Adar, in the year ר״י according to the [chronological] reckoning.

May He who granted me the merit of writing it grant me the merit of studying it, together with the rest of the holy books, I, my offspring, and my descendants unto the end of all generations. And may He grant me the merit to study and to teach, to observe and to perform.

And may the verse be fulfilled for me, as it is written: “This book of the Torah shall not depart from your mouth, and you shall meditate upon it day and night, so that you may observe to do everything written in it; for then you shall prosper in your ways, and then you shall have success” (Joshua 1:8).

Amen and amen, forever and ever. And peace (98a).
