This entry records disagreement concerning the distribution of loads of wax which arrived from Honein (Algeria) to Mallorca on Luf Antoni’s boat. On 15 April 1400, Astruc ha-Kohen declared that five loads of wax arrived: two for him and three for Cristofano di Bartolo, director of the Datini company in Mallorca. During the distribution, Cristofano mistakenly took a load of greater weight, estimated at 8 quintals (800 pounds), intended for Astruc, whereas Astruc took a load of lesser weight, estimated at 7 quintals and 20 pounds (720 pounds), intended for Cristofano. In order to make a fair distribution and settle their accounts, they were waiting for a letter from a certain Leonardo , operating in Honein, to confirm to them the weight of the wax when it was weighed in Honein, according to which the division should be carried out. Astruc has already shown Cristofano a letter from his brother specifying that his load of wax weighed 5 quintals and 5 pounds in Honein, according to the local measures.
